February 19th Guaruma celebrated the birthdays of two volunteers: Fabrizio Rosano (the computer technology teacher), born 02/19/1985, and Camilo López (who works for Guaruma Plus), born 02/17/1992. After eating, we were fortunate to enjoy a tres leches cake prepared by Selma. That night, the whole team celebrated the day with a delicious Italian dinner. Thanks to Selma [...] Today we cleaned up the community of Las Mangas with Guaruma’s students. After weekends when there are soccer games, the field always fills with all types of garbage. Wendy Lobo and Lidia Amparo Sevilla were especially helpful during the cleanup, which resulted in the collection of six large bags of bottles, snack wrappers, and other [...] Although the school year has just begun, we are already starting to consider volunteers for positions starting in June and July.
