Art Workshop

Monday and Tuesday, the 1st and 2nd of March, Guaruma hosted an art workshop for its students with the help of Julie Olson and Elizabeth Mini-Hoeller from the United States.  The two women taught the kids how to make fabrics with nature designs using paint and organic material such as flowers and leaves.

All the groups in Las Mangas participated and enjoyed the project despite rain on the second day.

Elizabeth Mini-Hoeller was born in Honduras and currently works as an artist in the United States.  Julie Olson works for Medical Brigades and has made more than 14 trips to Honduras.  The kids’ designs will be turned into a quilt for the classroom in Las Mangas.

Thank you Elizabeth Mini-Hoeller and Julie Olson for your support of Guaruma and the education of youth in the Cangrejal watershed!
