Friday, April 30th Mr. Norman Sagastume from the Inter-America Foundation (IAF) visited Guaruma. Mr. Sagastume visited our office in La Ceiba as well as the project facilities in Las Mangas and El Pital as part of a review of Guaruma’s progress in executing the responsibilities detailed in our grant from the foundation.
While in Las Mangas, Mr. Sagastume had the opportunity to observe our nature guides building interpretive signs and visit the Guaruma Nature Trail. He also interviewed staff and the Guaruma Plus students Juan and Camilo in our new office, which was built with IAF support.
We thank the IAF for their commitment to supporting community development and education in the Cangrejal Watershed and look forward to their next visit in fall.
